Spring cleaning…naturally!

Spring is a great time to give your home a deep clean, ready for a time of year where we’re more social. Here’s a few of our tips on giving your home that extra sparkle with 100% natural products that are economical and safe for your family and the environment.

Vinegar

By mixing equal parts of water and regular white vinegar in a spray bottle, you have a great all purpose natural cleaner. The same mixture can be used as a floor cleaner, and adding ½ cup to the rinse cycle of your laundry creates a fabric softener that is allergy friendly. Include a few drops of tea tree oil to super charge the disinfecting and deodorising properties.

Baking soda

Baking soda is a terrific natural deodoriser, and can be mixed into a paste with a little water to use as you would a commercial cleaner. Simply putting an open box of baking soda in your fridge or laundry will absorb any smells.

Tea

Tea bags can have a second life after you’ve enjoyed your cuppa. Water steeped with black tea bags is a very effective cleanser for hardwood floors.

Lemons and limes

The acidic properties and fresh smell of these fruits make them great all-round cleaning products. They are effective at removing stains from clothing, or scrubbing pots and pans when mixed with salt.
